Record Breaking Sports Day!

Read on about the 2018 successful and sunny sports day.

Our most successful sports day ever (we have never had so many broken records) took place in glorious sunshine!  27 records went over the four year groups - an amazing achievement.

The following students broke records:

Year 7

  • Holly Booth – Discus, 19.50m (breaking a 19 year old record!)
  • Cayetena Charmorro Gormez – Triple Jump 7.15m
  • Luke Guise – Triple Jump 7.48m
  • Year 7 Girls Relay Team 7BKR – Matilda Anderson, Niya Redfern, Rachel Dranfield and Isabella Moss

     

Year 8

  • Lauren Wilshaw 800m 2.38.10
  • Lauren Wilshaw Triple Jump 7.58m and
  • Lauren Wilshaw 1500m 5.26.18
  • Nathan Parker Long Jump 2.58m

     

Year 9

  • Eddie Fenton - 100m 11.84 (Breaking a 21 year old record)
  • Eddie Fenton - 200m 24.31 (Breaking a 20 year old record)
  • Nell Tolley - Triple Jump 6.60m
  • Nell Tolley – 200m 28.78 (Breaking a 19 year old record)
  • Abbie Fryer Winder – 800m 2.41.09
  • Katie Taylor – Shot 8.00m
  • Girls Relay Team – 9HWR – Nell Tolley, Nicole Johnson, Victoria Carrington, Ellie Fellows (Broke it in the heats with 1.00.44 and in the final lowered it again to 59.72)
  • Boys Relay Team – 9MRE – Jack Hodgkins, Oliver Baker, Liam Hooper and Byron Masterson (Broke it in the heats with 53.41 and in the final lowered it again to 52.56) – Breaking an 18 year old record
  • Frankie Heathcote – Triple Jump – 9.98m
  • Frankie Heathcote – 300m – 44.00
  • Ruby Burton – 300m 49.93

 

Year 10

  • Sosseh Badje – 300m (51.15 in the heats and lowered it in the final to 50.62)
  • Joe Graham – Discus – 31.19m
  • Heather Wilshaw – High Jump – Breaking a 19 year old record in 1.34m
  • Boys Relay Team – 10WWH – (Breaking a 20 year old record) Wiktor Kala, Dan Howarth, George Middlewood and Jack Kearney – 51.72
  • Girls Relay Team – 10 NCL - (Breaking a 12 year old record) Heather Wilshaw, Sosseh Badje, Elle Turner and Helena Dewick
  • Helena Dewick – Triple Jump 6.44m
  • Dan Howarth – Triple Jump 9.46m
  • Dan Howarth – Long Jump 2.61m

The overall sports day champions of the year, competing in best in their ndividual events over the two days are as follows;

  • Year 7 Boys Ellis Bradley – 100m, 200m, Shot, HJ and
  • Year 7 Girls Marissa Jackson – LJ, Shot, 800, 1500m
  • Year 8 Girl Lauren Wilshaw 800, 1500, High Jump and Triple Jump and
  • Year 8 Boy Nathan Parker 100, 200, Long Jump and High Jump
  • Year 9 Girl Nell Tolley – 100m, 200m, Triple Jump and Relay
  • Year 9 Boy Eddie Fenton, 100m, 200m, Shot and Javelin
  • Year 10 Girl Heather Wilshaw – 800m, 1500m, High Jump and winning by one point
  • Year 10 Boy Chris Sollis – 100m, 300m, Long Jump and Shot

The overall form competition results are as follows:
