Supporting Black History Month

We are pleased to be supporting Black History Month UK in school.  Teachers have been sharing where in their curriculum they are teaching about the achievements of Black British people, and about issues of racism and discrimination.  For example, in Y7 English, students have been reading an extract from ‘The Book Thief’ which relates to Jesse Owens, and discussing other athletes since who have protested against racism.

In addition, staff have been sharing those from the black community who have inspired them.  Please see a few examples below.
