Dear Parent/Carer

The DfE has asked schools to make a decision regarding the scheduled vocational exams due to take place In January. 

After much discussion the decision has been made that the January scheduled external exams will not go ahead.  For confirmation the scheduled January exams are as follows:

• Y10 and Y11 Music
• Y11 Child Development
• Y12 Performing Arts
• Y12 one-year pathway Health and Social Care
• Y13 Applied Human Biology
• Y13 Applied Science

This decision has not been taken lightly and has been based on safety for both students and staff.  As you will be aware the government has announced that the summer GCSE and A Level exams have been cancelled and we therefore want to take an equality of opportunity approach.

We have been assured by the DfE that no student will be disadvantaged as a result of this decision.    As soon as we have more guidance on how grades will be awarded, we will be in touch.
