Buxton Community School

BCS Press

The BCS Press is the new school newspaper written by students. BCS Press started so that the students at our school could have a voice about the issues that really matter to them. We want to talk about current affairs and issues that matter to us but also, we want to feature creative writing, puzzles, photography and welcome contributions from students for future editions.

The BCS Press is the student led school newspaper. We have been operating for multiple years, with every student that passes through us leaving their mark. We were formed to provide a platform for members of our school community to comment on, learn about, and raise awareness around issues that are important to us, and continue to encourage contributions from anyone interested.

Our newspaper contains a variety of content, including articles around issues and changes within the school, wider global changes and issues, debates, information about the local area, puzzles, reviews, interviews and artwork.  We publish one edition each half-term and some of our editions can be downloaded at the bottom of the page

Miss Gillespie, who leads the project, would like to congratulate all of the students who have contributed to the newspaper. She enjoys working with the team and is proud to see how the BCS Press continues to grow and develop.
