Meet the Team
I’m the Head of Sixth Form and I have the best job in the world! I have the privilege of helping the young adults I work with make vital decisions about their future and getting them to where they want to be. There is no better feeling than knowing that those in your care are going on to lead happy, successful lives. Indeed, I have just said goodbye to a group of students who are off to all different parts of the UK to continue their studies of exciting disciplines ranging from Astrophysics to 3D animation. Some of our students are going to old establishments such as Cambridge and St Andrews and others to more modern places like Warwick and York. Some students have decided not to go to university straight away and are having time out to gain some valuable work experience and much needed money! And some have been lucky enough to get apprenticeships with local companies who’ll look after them well. Wherever they have gone and regardless of what they are doing, I know that BCS Sixth Form gave them a great start to their adult lives.
Life in the BCS Sixth Form is never boring; students work hard but we also encourage them to have fun along the way. Having a good work/life balance is really important for all of us but especially when studying hard for crucial exams. That’s why at BCS Sixth Form, we place real emphasis on having fun in a friendly and caring community. On any given week, you might find us welly wanging, treasure hunting, biscuit tasting, cheerleading, picnicking, limbo dancing… the list goes on!
Outside of school, my passion for education continues and I do a lot of work for WJEC, the Welsh examining body. I am a Team Leader for GCSE Film Studies & deliver CPD to A level & GCSE film teachers. I have written a text book for film which is now sadly out of date and can be found in most bargain bins… And like Mr Gort, I too enjoy supporting the Mighty Reds, but the real ones – Liverpool Football Club.

In April 2023 we were also pleased to be joined by our new Pastoral Manager, Mr Matt Lomas. Matt has been working at BCS in various roles for 24 years so he knows the school, the students and the staff very well. We are really pleased to welcome Matt as part of our team.
