End of Year Message

Please see below message from Mrs Jones which was emailed out to parents last week.
Dear Parent/Carer
I cannot believe we are at the end of another school year! We have achieved so much over the year and, as always, I am so proud of the students and the staff for all their hard work and dedication. A massive thank you to you for your support over the year, it really does make all the difference. Please continue to share your feedback with us so we can continue to improve what we do.
End of Term
As per our earlier email, we finish for the summer holidays on Thursday 24th – as a reminder:
- Wednesday and Thursday are non-uniform days. As always, own clothes must be suitable for school - no crop tops or other beachwear type clothing. Shorts must be of a suitable length.
- If your child has PE on Wednesday or Thursday, please ensure they wear clothing and footwear suitable to take part in PE lessons.
- Please remind your child to take any equipment they may need out of their blazer for the non-uniform days and put it in their bag to bring with them.
- On Thursday students will have an early lunch from 12-12.30pm and will then go to their form rooms for goodbyes before being dismissed at 12.45pm. If your child needs to stay in school to wait for a bus at the normal finishing time, please phone or email Sandi Flint.
If you would like to donate any items of uniform which no longer fit, for our pre-loved uniform shop (particularly blazers, skirts and PE kit), please send them in with your child or drop them in at reception.
GCSE and A-Level Results Days
We are extremely proud of our Year 11 and 13 students in terms of their conduct and approach during their examinations this summer. I am sure all their hard work will pay off and we will be able to celebrate with them on the results days in August:
- Year 13 results day – Thursday 14th August 9-11am
- Year 11 results day – Thursday 21st August 9 -11am
Please come to the Sixth Form Study Centre for both GCSE and A Level results. If your child would like someone to collect their results on their behalf, they must email in from their own email address before the end of term or send the nominated person with a signed letter giving permission for collection. Any results that are not collected on the day will be posted home.
New School Year
Students return to school on Monday 8th September at the following times:
- Year 7 start at 8.50am and should meet their form tutor on the tennis courts.
- Year 8 -11 should be on site by 10am and students should head to their form rooms for a 10.10am start
- Year 12 should meet in the study centre for a 10.10am start.
- Year 13 should make their way to their form rooms for a 10.10am start
If your child is in Y8-11 and travels to school on the bus and will therefore arrive for the normal 8.50am start, they should report to The Hub on arrival where they will be supervised until 10.10am.
Standard and Expectations
Just a quick reminder about uniform - the summer holidays are a time when some students express themselves in different ways, without the constraints of school standards. We ask that before the September return, hair that is dyed a vivid colour is returned to a natural look and excessive and brightly coloured nail extensions are removed (nails must be a suitable length and of a natural colour.) In addition, please remember that jewellery is limited to a watch and studs only in ears. In accordance with Health and Safety regulations no other piercings are allowed, including lip, nose, septum and eyebrow. Please ensure these are removed prior to returning to school in September, should your child have a piercing over the Summer break.
Attendance
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you about the importance of attendance and punctuality and the impact we know they have on academic progress. Please take some time to reflect on the impact data shown in the table below. If you need help and support in getting your child into school, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
