It is the 50th anniversary of the Buxton Oignies twinning association, which actually has its origins just before the Dunkirk evacuations, when 6 young men from Buxton lost their lives defending Oignies from the advancing Germans. 

Former BCS teacher, Ian Hamilton, will be coming into school to do some assemblies to let the students know more about this historic and very successful twinning association .
